Dispute resolution trends & predictions
Building on insights gained in 2024, our latest report includes a comprehensive analysis from our Dispute Resolution team together with valuable viewpoints from our clients.
The outlook for 2025 is characterised by economic uncertainty, with commercial tensions increasingly likely to spill over into disputes. AI continues to drive disputes across multiple areas, including IP rights, online disinformation, banking fraud and art forgeries. Meanwhile, evolving legislation on economic crime, corporate transparency, online safety, employment and commercial property will also pave the way for further litigation.
Our Disputes experts have provided insights across a broad spectrum, including: banking & financial services; corporate and shareholder disputes; fraud & asset recovery; data protection, IP & technology; commercial property; international arbitration; employment; reputation management; art & cultural property; sovereign & diplomatic disputes; family; and contentious trusts and estates.
One hopes that London will retain its position as the global centre of litigation. However, with ongoing underinvestment in our courts and the courts’ increased powers under the Civil Procedure Rules, alternative dispute resolution may start to come to the fore. That said, our judiciary remain a beacon of integrity and expertise.
The disputes landscape is complex, wide-ranging and ever shifting. Our Disputes team is here to help you navigate this terrain.
